Erin O’Rourke, LMFtA, Magnolia Couples and Family Therapy

Erin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) who works with individuals, couples, and families, supporting them through life's complexities with warmth, compassion, and practical strategies. Her background in relational therapy and systems thinking enables her to understand the unique dynamics at play in each client's life and relationships.

Before becoming a therapist, Erin spent years designing and leading educational and developmental programs in the tech sector, gaining valuable insights into communication, relationship dynamics, and problem-solving. Today, she supports children experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges, families managing transitions or conflicts, adolescents and young adults exploring identity, couples aiming to strengthen their emotional connections, and caregivers seeking to deepen their bond with their children.

Erin commonly works with clients experiencing:

  • Child emotional and behavioral concerns (using Play Therapy)

  • Relationship and marital conflicts

  • Family communication challenges

  • Parenting and caregiver stress

  • Identity exploration (including gender and sexuality)

  • Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties

  • Life transitions and adjustments

  • Neurodiversity-related support needs

Her therapeutic approach integrates Emotion-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Play Therapy. Play Therapy, in particular, is central to Erin's practice, providing children a safe, creative space to express themselves, process emotions, and develop coping skills through play-based activities. Erin is committed to providing affirming care and warmly welcomes neurodiverse, LGBTQIA+, and gender-diverse individuals and families.

Erin's goal is to partner with clients in creating meaningful connections, fostering resilience, and achieving emotional well-being.
