Katie Schripsema, MOTR/L, MT-BC
Katie Schripsema is a licensed occupational therapist and board-certified music therapist. She holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico and Bachelor’s degrees in Music Therapy and Flute Performance from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
Katie’s education and experience as both an occupational therapist and music therapist give her a unique skill set that she brings to each therapy session. She is passionate about exploring how music and movement support improved sensory processing and sensory integration.
Prior to relocating to Seattle, Katie owned and operated a private music therapy practice (Duke City Music Therapy) in Albuquerque, NM. During her time in private practice, she provided individual music therapy sessions and collaborated with various organizations including the Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network, Rio Rancho Public Schools, KidPower Therapy Associates, Live Laugh Play Sensory Gym, New Mexico Autism Society, Enlace Comunitario, and more. She has experience working with kids of all ages, as both an occupational therapist and music therapist, across many settings including schools, outpatient clinics, community groups, foster care, and early intervention.
